Lake District Camping Barn Weekend
Join us for two nights based at a camping barn in St Johns in the Vale, where we'll enjoy 2 days of guided walking on the surrounding fells, including Helvellyn, Raise, White Side and High Rigg.
If you're happy to forego a little luxury in exchange for a more sociable, environmentally friendly, rustic holiday then this is the perfect weekend break in the Lake District for you.

Accommodation
Our accommodation is a locally owned camping barn in St Johns in the Vale - one of the most tranquil and picturesque valleys in the Lake District. A converted 18th Century stable and hayloft, the barn has a dining/seating area with a wood burning stove that heats the entire building and open-plan mezzanine sleeping area upstairs. There is a separate toilet, shower and cooking area within the building.
The sleeping area is shared amongst the entire group. Mattresses are provided, but you'll need to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow.
Although basic, the camping barn is clean and comfortable, and with the wood-burning stove going in the evening it's the perfect place for an enjoyable, sociable break in the Lakes.
Meals
All meals are included, from dinner on Friday night to packed lunch on Sunday morning. The food is freshly made, wholesome, locally sourced and organic as much as possible. Weather permitting, there is also the option of a BBQ. So you'll be eating healthily and heartily to build up your energy for the next day's walking. Vegetarians are also catered for.
Guided walking
Both days walking will be right from the doorstep. On Saturday we aim to walk to the summit of Helvellyn via Sticks Pass (15km/9½ miles) and on Sunday we'll walk over High and Low Rigg (9½km/6 miles). You will need to be fit enough to enjoy a full day of walking on the high fells. Please note: walking routes may have to be adjusted according to weather conditions.
